Alecia Hanold

Alecia Hanold is a secondary general music educator who teaches beginning Music Theory, Advanced Placement Music Theory, and Dual Credit Music Theory at the high-school level. She also teaches Popular Music Studio, Comparative Arts, Adaptive Music, and private flute lessons. In addition, Alecia directs her school’s flute choir, recorder consort, and other chamber ensembles. Alecia has been teaching in the urban public school setting for 13 years and is an advocate for creating authentic, meaningful musical experiences that are accessible to students of all ability levels and backgrounds.  

Alecia holds an M.M. in Music Education from Kent State University. She has served as an AP Reader for the College Board, has presented at the Wisconsin School of Music convention, and has presented to local NAfME chapters on teaching students with disabilities. She has also written curriculum at the district level for several courses including elementary general music, Music Theory, Comparative Arts, and Popular Music Studio.  

Alecia lives in the beautiful state of Wisconsin with her husband, two children, two dogs, and a grumpy cat. She enjoys reading, hiking, and playing in local performing ensembles.
