Amy Walworth

Amy Walworth is currently in her fifteenth year of teaching elementary general music. She is the author of Teaching Music on a Cart, where she shares her encouragement  and experience for music educators who find themselves in a cart teaching situation. Amy is the elementary music specialist at Macon County Public Schools, in the rural town of Lafayette, Tennessee where she has taught PreK-5th for the last six years. Amy credits her early music experiences growing up in church as the foundation of her passion for music education and love for music. Amy currently serves as a member of her church worship band as a drummer and singer. 

As a college clarinetist, Amy received her Bachelor’s of Music Education from Cumberland University in 2005 where she currently teaches as adjunct instructor of Elementary Music Methods. Amy received her Master’s of Music Education from the University of Nebraska, Kearney, 2010. Amy has completed  Level 1 Orff Schulwerk  (Belmont University)  as well as Level 2 (International Orff Course, San Francisco). She has co-presented at the International Clarinet Association conference (ICA), the OAKE national conference, and the Nebraska Educators Conference in 2012. Amy shared her cart teaching experiences with the Middle Tennessee General Music Association August, 2020, was invited to present for NAfME in August 2020, as well as The Association for Music International Schools (AMIS) online summit, November 2020, and the NAFME Eastern Division on The Art of the Cart in May, 2021.
