Lauren DeLago

Lauren DeLago’s journey in the world of music began just outside of New York City in Edison, NJ, where her passion for both teaching and performing were ignited. Her formal education at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University was a pivotal chapter, as she honed her skills in music education. Building on this foundation, Lauren recently achieved a significant milestone by completing the Master of Music Education online program at the Longy School of Music.

Over the span of 11 years, Lauren has been a dedicated music educator in urban schools across the NYC metro area. Notably, she held the esteemed position of Music Instructional Supervisor and Master Music Teacher at The Equity Project Charter School in the culturally rich Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Beyond her impactful classroom role, Lauren extends her expertise as a course facilitator for the Longy School of Music’s Master of Music online program, collaborating with students engaged in United Nations Institute for Training and Research Degree programs.

Lauren’s commitment to enriching educational experiences doesn’t stop there. Currently, she is embarking on an exciting new venture as a fellow at Springboards Software Engineering Bootcamp, delving into full-stack software development to create innovative learning tools tailored for the music classroom. Parallel to her professional pursuits, Lauren is an integral part of the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra’s French horn section since 2011, where she finds immense fulfillment in fostering community connections through family concerts. Beyond music, Lauren finds solace in playing the piano, embarking on hikes with her beloved canine companions, Rosie and Teddy, and immersing herself in the captivating realms of science fiction literature.
