S. Elias James
S. Elias James spent most of his life making sure he was as versatile as possible. When he went to college, he couldn’t settle on one emphasis, so he did vocal and instrumental performance, education, composition and production. After that, he got an education in systems design and programming, as a profession; this was followed by a master of music in music technology, recording technology, from SUU.
Elias has quite a bit of industry experience as well. He produces local artists out of his home studio in Provo, Utah. He has also scored multiple feature films, winning Best Original Score at the Branson Int’l Film Festival. He performed with Video Games Live, Star Wars in Concert, Josh Groban (In the Round), and for many projects in several studios.
As far as educational materials go, Elias has most of an English Teaching degree, 18 months of journalism experience, and quite a lot of graphic design experience. While most music technology curricula designers mostly speak from the narrow field they specialize in, Elias tries diligently to cover as broad an area as possible, with the style of a journalist—concise and unbiased.
