Dan Formidoni

At an early age Dan began drawing cartoons, animals, and portraits of his favorite athletes and musicians. This hobby turned into a passion and now as an all-around professional artist he not only creates and paints stand alone art pieces, but does face painting, mural work, graffiti-style spray-painting, tattoo design, and of course illustrations. Dan loves painting works using a vibrant brush technique with bright and displaced colors to convey a narrative in addition to creating art for educational stories.

Dan grew up in New England and focused on classical piano and composition through undergraduate at Plymouth State University. Following undergraduate Dan moved to Oklahoma and attended OU for graduate work with electronic music. Since college Dan has held a variety of jobs from social worker and teacher to church organist and face painter. As a middle and high school teacher in both Nashville and New York City, Dan developed a passion for education and the importance of fine arts for children and youth. This has inspired collaborations with fellow teachers such as Zach Himelhoch for children’s works like Priscilla Plays Percussion. Dan currently lives with his wife and two sons in middle Tennessee.
