I am a music teacher who is also a flute player. This year, I started teaching at a community music program that has me teaching flute lessons again after many years of not having a studio. It had been a long while since I had taught total beginners and I wanted to make sure I was covering everything (sometimes the curse of knowledge gets in the way of remembering what it’s like to be an absolute beginner). It would have taken me such a long time to go back and compile all of my previous notes, resources, etc. This book was a wonderful resource/refresher for me that saved me lots of time and energy!

The book is in easy to digest sections that provide clear explanations, visuals, and videos. There are plenty of tips, tricks, and exercises to set a solid foundation for beginner flute players. This would also be a great book for a woodwind methods class or for any band directors (especially non-flutists) who are looking to improve their flute sections! Highly recommend!!
