Description
This Elementary Music Curriculum to the music of Fyütch and Aura V was created to help educators bring powerful, culturally relevant music into the elementary classroom through meaningful and engaging musical experiences. With the blessing of the artists, this curriculum invites students to sing, move, play, and reflect while exploring themes of unity, self affirmation, and gratitude.
Designed specifically for elementary music classrooms, the lessons combine strong musical skill development with social emotional learning, helping students build confidence, collaboration, and a sense of belonging through music. Centered around three impactful songs, “Harmony,” “I Am Love I Am Light,” and “Thankful,” this curriculum provides thoughtfully designed activities that support rhythmic literacy, ensemble skills, expressive movement, and creative exploration.
Each learning experience is structured so that students first internalize rhythm through speech, movement, and listening before transferring those skills to instruments and performance. Teachers are also supported with clear teaching visuals for every activity, helping students see, understand, and confidently participate in each musical experience.
Inside this Elementary Music Curriculum, educators will find:
- A cup passing activity and scarf movement routine for “Harmony” that build steady beat and ensemble awareness while encouraging expressive movement
- An instrumental play along for upper elementary students for “I Am Love I Am Light” that strengthens ensemble performance and musical independence
- A rhythm play along video using auxiliary percussion designed as a visual tool for younger learners to build rhythmic confidence and practice proper instrumental technique
- A rhythm stick routine that allows students to experience rhythm through coordinated movement and performance
- A literacy connection pairing the music with the children’s book “Hello There” by Tabitha Brown to support conversations about identity, kindness, and self-worth
- A Frame Drum Performance Piece for “Thankful” where students learn rhythmic speech and text first, helping them internalize the rhythms and perform with confidence
- Teaching visuals for every activity to support student understanding and classroom implementation
- Performance and instrumental MP3 recordings from the 2026 Grammy Award Winning Children’s Album of the Year, Harmony, by Fyütch and Aura V to support singing, movement, and instrumental play
- Classroom strategies that support social emotional learning, collaboration, and inclusive music making
This curriculum empowers educators to move beyond simply teaching songs and instead create transformational musical experiences where students see themselves in the music, hear their voices valued, and experience the power of making music together.
