Ve Nghe Me Ru (Come Home and Listen to Mother’s Lullabies) is a compilation of Vietnamese folk songs and poems that are commonly found in Vietnamese mothers’ lullabies arranged with newly composed material. This piece can be performed with a full orchestra and SATB choir, or with piano accompaniment in both SSA and SATB arrangements. Note: Each SSA or SATB choir purchase is good for one license. Description

Ve Nghe Me Ru (Come Home and Listen to Mother’s Lullabies) is a compilation of Vietnamese folk songs and poems that are commonly found in Vietnamese mothers’ lullabies arranged with newly composed material. This piece can be performed with a full orchestra and SATB choir, or with piano accompaniment in both SSA and SATB arrangements. As a child, composer Julianna Nguyen often heard these melodies. She decided to create a piece in which folk melodies are woven together, telling the story of the rich folk music of Vietnam.

About the Author

Julianne graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Education from Sonoma State University. Originally from Vietnam, she moved to the United States in 2015. Having sung since the age of three, Julianna began pursuing music professionally at the age of 18, starting her studies in vocal performance and composition at American River College in Sacramento.
