Description
“The Journey” tells the story of four students who go on a field trip with their classmates to a science center on the day of a total solar eclipse. Throughout the day, the students encounter various situations that, in the end, cause them to reflect on life’s journey. Each song contains a positive message, interesting harmonies, and beautifully crafted melodies:
- It’s Good to Be Young: The show begins with the students excited to go on a field trip and feeling good about their lives and the day ahead.
- Choices: Upon arriving at their destination, the students realize they have a variety of options as to how they will spend their day.
- Growing Up: After getting separated from their group and realizing they are lost, the students reflect on which they would prefer – never having to grow up or being a grown-up.
- Thank You: The students recall the advice of their friends, parents, and teachers to find their way back to their group. Upon rejoining them, they realize they have a lot of things to be thankful for.
- The Journey: At the end of their eventful day, the students realize that many of the events and emotions they experienced on their journey to the science center connect to the journey of life.
