About Synthia MacEachern

Synthia MacEachern is an Orff inspired primary music specialist on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She holds a BMusEd from the University of Prince Edward Island and a MEd in Literacy Education from Mt. St. Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She completed her Orff Levels Training in 2012 and has studied with Joe Berarducci, Debra Gieblehaus-Maloney, Doug Goodkin, and other celebrated Orff Educators. Syndi has worked in the Public Schools Branch of Prince Edward Island for the past 20 years. In that time she has taught K to 6 elementary music, grade 7 to 9 instrumental music, grade 10 to 12 instrumental music, Reading Recovery and primary resource. She served as the department head for the Public Schools Branch Drama Festival for 9 years. Ms. MacEachern continues to perform as the pianist with the UPEI Wind Ensemble. She is the former choral director of the St. Pius X Adult Choir as well as the St. Francis Children’s Ensemble. Syndi is passionate about sharing her experience with other music professionals and is an invited Orff clinician throughout Atlantic Canada. She creates teaching resources for TeacherspayTeachers and authors the bog “Just Orffin’ Around.” She is mother to the sweetest kid around, Lucy MacAulay and lives with her daughter and husband, Rodney. She is very blessed to be supported by her wonderful family.
