Description

The Teaching Artist Toolkit is an all-in-one how-to-guide, workbook, and lesson planner to help musicians optimize their teaching practice so they can level up their own artist careers.

The book includes an overview of how to structure lessons, how to simplify lesson prep, and, crucially, a series of questions via the workbook section to help you hone in on what you want to teach, who you want to teach it to, and how to get and stay inspired and organized to do it – because inspired teachers make inspired students.

A lesson planner, including quarterly goal setting pages for students and for you, the teacher, helps you stay organized and on top of it, no matter how many different students and/or instruments you’re teaching.

Whether you’ve always been curious about teaching lessons or have taught for a while and feel stuck and overwhelmed, this book is here to help you create an organized framework and approach for teaching lessons that keeps students coming back for more.

A bonus resource library is included in the back.

About the Author

Lesley Barth is a singer/songwriter and teaching artist based in Nashville, TN.  After teaching thousands of lessons on top of the busy demands of a regularly performing and touring songwriter, Lesley knew there had to be a simpler and more effective way to prepare for lessons, and through this, wrote The Teaching Artist Toolkit.  What started as a lesson planner for teaching musicians grew into a full-fledged book, online course, and coaching for musicians who want to optimize their teaching practice to level up their own artist career.
