Mathew Trevino

Matthew Trevino is an award-winning elementary music educator in San Antonio, Texas. In 2015, Matthew founded Sonido, an elementary percussion ensemble dedicated to inspiring young musicians through engaging and meaningful performances. Since then, Sonido has been invited to perform at the opening ceremonies of the 2017 AOSA National Conference and has twice been selected as an Invited Ensemble for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in 2020 and 2024. Sonido regularly performs around the San Antonio area, and puts on a great show every time.
Matthew is a frequent clinician at the TMEA Convention and has presented workshops for music educators across the country. Through he and Sonido's online presence, Trevino also inspires music teachers around the world by showcasing the incredible musical achievements of elementary students. By sharing performances, rehearsals, and teaching ideas, he hopes to encourage educators to dream big and discover what's possible in their own classrooms.
Jammin' Out! reflects Matthew's belief that every child can experience the joy of making music. His goal is to equip teachers with engaging, flexible resources that inspire creativity, build confidence, and make music class a place where every student belongs.
