F-flat Books is a company dedicated to changing narratives in music education through the voices we elevate and the people we support.

We believe in people over profit

We give away the majority of our sales- to the content creators and the communities they serve. While most publishers pay 10% or less in royalties, all of our authors earn 70% of profit from their work. And, we give 5% of every sale to community-selected non-profits.

We believe in elevating under-represented voices

We believe that everyone should see themselves on our site through our resources and our community of authors. We are dedicated to developing projects from under-represented communities and paying people for their labor.

We believe in access and equity

We have yet to turn away an educator in need of resources. All of our conferences are “pay what you wish” and we offer free curriculum to teachers in need.

We believe that we are better together

Through lifting every voice, we know that this community will continue to grow and thrive to be a company by teachers and for teachers.
